23 August, 2013
Sergey Sirotkin on Friday confirmed reports that he has signed a real contract to drive for Sauber in 2014.
Austrian reports on Thursday said that team boss Monisha Kaltenborn had confirmed at Spa-Francorchamps that the Russian teenager has finally signed the deal.
Earlier, amid Sauber’s crucial Russian rescue deal, Sirotkin’s place at Sauber for 2014 was merely an ambition. He is yet to secure an FIA super license.
“I’m a Sauber driver in Formula 1 for 2014! Thank you all for your congratulations,” the 17-year-old wrote on the Russian social network Vkontakte on Friday. (GMM)
