Red Bull: We’re happy with where we are

8 June, 2013

Red Bull drivers report from the first day of the Canadian Grand Prix weekend – FP1 and FP2 – at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on the Ile Notre Dame in Montreal.

Sebastian Vettel:
It was tricky this morning with the wet weather, but fortunately in the afternoon we had some dry conditions. It was quite slippery, with low grip at the end. The dominating factor was the weather today and we’re not sure what’s going to tomorrow, but we’re happy with where we are.

  • First Practice Session: Position: 9, Best Time: 1:23.047, Laps: 26
  • Second Practice Session: Position: 7, Best Time: 1:15.280, Laps: 41

Today was pretty good. It’s a tricky circuit, especially when it’s a bit green and there’s not much rubber on track. The first session was wet, but we got some information on all of the tyres at the end there in FP2. The new tyre compound was ok, it wasn’t expected to be hugely different, but it ran well. It would have been nice to do some more work on it, we got five laps – but it’s better than nothing. We seemed pretty strong in both conditions today.

  • First Practice Session: Position: 10, Best Time: 1:23.131, Laps: 16
  • Second Practice Session: Position: 4, Best Time: 1:15.212, Laps: 46
