Grand Prix International 30 May 2012 Edition
30 May, 2012
May 30 (Grand Prix International by YallaF1.com) Six from six or six out of six – call it whatever you wish – Formula One is rocking big time at the moment. Most recent winner Mark Webber barged his way into F1 title contention with a supremely controlled victory on the mean streets of Monte Carlo.
Nothing is predictable these days in a sport that was at one time notoriously predictable – yet there are individuals within F1 ranks who question whether the whole thing is confusing fans…
What? Just how condescending can these people be?
In fact, quite the opposite is happening. For a change the driver is a vital element in the equation, so is team strategy and other human elements that have contributed to some of the closest and most thrilling racing ever seen in our sport. We should relish this formula and hope that it remains this way indefinitely. Who actually wants the monotony of a Schumacher era, or a year like 2011, when Vettel won just about every race?
On another note…It was very cool for Kimi Raikkonen to pay tribute to James Hunt with a replica helmet in Monaco. We do so too, with a dozen pictures that hopefully capture the essence of that great character of a bygone era.
Plus, Monaco reports and great HD photography from first practice to the podium ceremony and everything in between. Enjoy!
