Williams to attend Aspire 4 Sport in Qatar
6 October, 2011
Oct.6 (Press Release) Williams F1 confirmed it will be participating in the Aspire 4 Sport congress once again this year to be held 12th – 15th November 2011.
Williams F1 Founder and Team Principal, Sir Frank Williams, said “Williams F1 is the only international sports team with a permanent presence in Qatar via its Williams Technology Centre in the Qatar Science & Technology Park. Doha is quite literally our second home. It is therefore entirely appropriate that we support such home grown initiatives like the Aspire 4 Sport Congress. We came to the inaugural event last year and it is with great pleasure that we have agreed to attend once again this year. On a personal note I always enjoy visiting Qatar. Not only because of the warm hospitality we receive whenever we visit but because of the tremendous pace of development that we witness every time we come to town. This event promises to be a magnificent success once again and is a fitting conference to demonstrate Qatar’s growing reputation as a global hub for international sport.”
Sir Frank and at least one of the Williams F1 drivers will attend the conference joining a star-studded line up of sporting personalities. In addition Alex Burns, the CEO of Williams F1 will be a key speaker at the event. Finally, one of the Williams F1 team’s Formula One cars will also be on display for the duration of the Congress allowing delegates and sports fans the opportunity of seeing a Formula One car up close.
Aspire 4 Sport Executive Director, Ward Abdallah, commented, “We were privileged to have Sir Frank join us last year and the fact that he has agreed to return with other members of his team demonstrates how the Aspire 4 Sport Congress has already developed a reputation as one of the world’s leading sports conferences in just its second year. We look forward to welcoming him and other sports personalities to our conference once again.”
