Razia eyes Lotus F1 debut at Brazilian GP
17 August, 2011
Aug.17 (PVM) GP2 Series and Lotus reserve driver Luiz Razia is seeking sponsors to enable him to make his Formula 1 debut at the season finale Brazilian GP at Interlagos.
Globo Esporte reports that Brazilian Razia is in discussion with investors in his home country to make the dream a reality: “There is a possibility. We are working to get sponsors for next year. And so why not start in Brazil this year? This would be a way to start 2012 early.”
The 22 year old, perhaps inspired by Karun Chandhok’s Lotus debut at the German GP in place of Jarno Trulli, says that the team will consider him for a drive in Sao Paulo if he can come up with the funding to do so.
Razia admits, “It’s a situation that involves other factors. The initial discussions started in June.”
