Alonso cheers up kids before his holiday

Dec.19 (PVM) Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has been a busy fellow during the Formula 1 off season, but the Spaniard completed a final feel good engagement for sponsor Santander where he visited hospitalised children and attended a Christmas party for around 600 kids.
On Friday morning Alonso children’s wards the Nino Jesus di Madrid to bring cheer to the young patients.
Later in the day he attended the Gala Solidaria Santander 2010 which is part of the bank’s social involvement programme, and having their star race driver at the event thrilled the young audience who peppered the two times F1 world champion with questions.
Alonso said, “I am happy to see that so many presents have been brought here,” said Fernando. “From our side, I really hope to deliver them a present by winning next year’s World Championship.”
In the morning Alonso Nino Jesus di Madrid hospital where he visited the children’s wards to bring cheer to the young patients.
At the end of the busy day Alonso embarked on a two week holiday with family and friends where he intends recharging his batteries for the 2011 season His next appearance will be on 10 January, when Madonna di Campiglio will be the venue for the twenty first edition of Wrooom, which traditionally kickstarts Ferrari’s season.
