Perez gets advice from Alonso at Maranello

Dec.16 (PVM) Sergio Perez made a stop over at Maranello where he met Fernando Alonso and was given advice by the two time F1 world champion. The young Mexican was on his way to Sauber F1 team headquarters in Hinwil to commence his training for 2011.
Perez, who will race full time with Sauber in 2011 with Telmex backing, has been inducted into the Ferrari Driver Academy and was in Italy to finalise related formalities which resulted in meeting double Ferrari driver Alonso.
Perez said, “It was a good day in Maranello. I was with the Ferrari Driver Academy people leaving all matters set for my future stay with them. It has been an excellent day for me and my career. I had the opportunity to talk with Fernando Alonso, who generously gave me advice for my first season in Formula 1. I´m leaving very motivated and excited for there is to come.”
The young Mexican added, “I’m leaving tomorrow to Zurich where I’ll start my physical training and work with my engineers to prepare everything before the Christmas celebrations. Now we have to focus and work to make the best out of this season.”
Perez will start his training program with Sauber this weekend in order to prepare for his rookie season in Formula 1. He will be the first Mexican in 30 years to be full time on the F1 grid.
